Monsanto, Pfizer Move PCB Action To Federal Court

Law360, New York (July 29, 2010, 3:50 PM EDT) -- Monsanto Corp., Pfizer Inc. and other defendants have moved a proposed class action that accuses them of negligently contaminating part of St. Louis with carcinogenic materials from state to federal court, saying the venue is more appropriate given the enormity of the case.

The defendants removed the suit Wednesday from the Circuit Court of the City of St. Louis, maintaining that the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri has jurisdiction because the amount in controversy exceeds $5 million.
