Rival Hits OCLC With Library Technology Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (July 29, 2010, 3:27 PM EDT) -- SkyRiver Technology Solutions LLC has slapped OCLC Online Computer Library Center Inc. with a suit accusing the nonprofit of trying to muscle SkyRiver out of the library cataloging services market.

SkyRiver and library automation company Innovative Interfaces Inc. filed their complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Wednesday.

The plaintiffs claim that OCLC, which bills itself as the world's largest library cooperative and says it represents 72,000 libraries around the globe, is not only monopolizing the bibliographic data, cataloging services...
