Calif. Emissions Program Opponents Sue Over Ballot

Law360, New York (July 29, 2010, 4:54 PM EDT) -- Supporters of a ballot initiative to put California's climate change program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on hold until the state unemployment rate drops below 5.5 percent have sued the state's attorney general over the proposed description of the ballot measure, saying it's false and misleading.

Jon Coupal and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association filed a petition Tuesday in the Sacramento County Superior Court against California Attorney General Jerry Brown, saying he has let his political agenda interfere with his responsibility to offer an impartial label...
