Anheuser Can't Have 'Budweiser' Mark: EU High Court

Law360, New York (July 29, 2010, 4:12 PM EDT) -- The European Union's highest court has rejected Anheuser-Busch InBev NV's bid to register the “Budweiser” trademark across the EU, upholding a win for long-time Czech rival Budejovicky Budvar NP.

The European Court of Justice on Thursday ruled that Anheuser-Busch cannot obtain an EU trademark for the name of its well-known American brand.
