BP CEO Will Testify In Texas City Explosion Case

Law360, New York (February 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Despite numerous objections from BP Plc, a Texas court has ordered CEO Lord John Browne to answer questions about the company’s role in the Texas City refinery explosion that killed over a dozen people and marked one of the worst workplace disasters in the last two decades.

The explosion occurred in March 2005, after the plant’s isomerization unit overflowed with highly flammable liquids and exploded. Fifteen people were killed and over 170 people were harmed.
