Long-Term Biotech Client Sues Townsend For Malpractice

Law360 (July 27, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A long-term biotech client has sued Townsend and Townsend and Crew, accusing the intellectual property firm of legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract over a decade of service.

In a complaint filed Thursday in San Francisco Superior Court, Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. seeks about $35.5 million in damages, including $5.5 million in attorney fees.

In addition to the firm, the suit names partners Roger Cook and Theodore Brown III, who represented it at trial, as defendants.
