4th Circ. Sinks 2nd Malpractice Suit Against Holland

Law360, New York (July 29, 2010, 6:39 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed the dismissal of a case brought by a former Holland & Knight LLP client who accused the firm of mishandling his copyright suit.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit issued a per curiam opinion Thursday that tossed the case based on res judicata, which prohibits parties from retrying cases when there has already been a final judgment on the matter.
