Offshore To Pay $2M For Dumping Oil Waste

Law360, New York (July 30, 2010, 4:30 PM EDT) -- Offshore Service Vessels LLC will pay $2.1 million now that it has pled guilty to deliberately dumping thousands of gallons of oil waste from an ice-breaking vessel into international waters in 2004 and 2005, the U.S. Department of Justice said Friday.

Offshore entered the plea in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on Thursday, after the DOJ brought felony pollution charges against the ship manufacturer and vessel operator on July 1.
