Veritas Execs Dodge Claims In SEC Suit Over AOL Deal

Law360, New York (July 30, 2010, 6:29 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has trimmed claims the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission brought against three former Veritas Software Corp. executives who allegedly misrepresented negotiations between Veritas and AOL to auditors tasked with examining a $50 million license agreement.

In a 60-page order Thursday, Judge Jeremy Fogel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California granted in part and denied in part the defendants' motions for summary judgment, throwing out claims for record-keeping violations, internal control violations, and aiding and abetting reporting violations....
