Cuomo Subpoenas 6 More In Life Insurance Probe

Law360, New York (July 30, 2010, 5:11 PM EDT) -- New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has widened his probe into alleged fraud in the life insurance industry, subpoenaing six additional insurers, including Genworth Financial Inc., Guardian Life of America and AXA SA's MONY Life Insurance Co.

Cuomo spokesman Richard Bamberger said the latest batch of subpoenas was sent Friday, a day after the attorney general said he would investigate whether insurers had defrauded the families of deceased veterans and other federal employees of hundreds of millions of dollars in life insurance settlements.
