Realtors Sue Blue Shield For Cutting Health Plan

Law360, New York (February 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A trade group of realtors in California has brought a lawsuit against the state’s Blue Shield, alleging that it improperly rescinded its contract and dropped health coverage for thousands of the group’s members.

The California Association of Realtors lodged the suit Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court weeks after the group and the San Francisco-based health insurance provider fell short of reaching a resolution over the dispute.

The association also sought a preliminary injunction against Blue Shield to stop it from canceling the group’s plan....
