Feds Say Nuga USA Dodged China Wood Furniture Duty

Law360, New York (August 9, 2010, 4:32 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has filed suit against Nuga USA Co. Inc., claiming the import-export company made material false statements in order to avoid hefty anti-dumping duties placed on wooden bedroom furniture imported from China.

In July 2006, Nuga USA attempted to import a shipment of wooden furniture into the U.S. but described the merchandise as metal, the Justice Department said Friday in its U.S. Court of International Trade complaint.
