Intervet Plan For Quiet Vetsulin Settlements Thwarted

Law360, New York (August 10, 2010, 2:12 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has disrupted a Schering-Plough Corp. unit's attempts to privately settle with those who might join a putative class action over alleged pet injuries caused by the drug Vetsulin, saying the company must notify customers about the lawsuit when it suggests they settle and sign releases.

Schering-Plough's Intervet Inc. must also advise the customers who have already signed releases to consider contacting their lawyers, Judge James G. Carr of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio said in an order issued...
