Ex-CKX CEO Bids Up To $535M For 'American Idol' Co.

Law360, New York (August 10, 2010, 1:45 PM EDT) -- Robert F.X. Sillerman, the former CEO of CKX Inc., on Tuesday became the latest to launch a bid for a majority stake in the producer of "American Idol," with a potential offer of more than $535 million.

According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Sillerman, who resigned his position with the company in May, is planning an all-cash offer to purchase at least 30 percent of the company's outstanding shares at between $5.50 and $5.75 per share of common stock.
