Tronox Aims For 2011 Trial Date For Kerr-McGee Suit

Law360, New York (August 10, 2010, 6:54 PM EDT) -- Lawyers for bankrupt pigment maker Tronox Inc. have set a December 2011 trial date for a case against Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and former parent Kerr-McGee Corp., accusing the companies of spinning off Tronox to stick it with massive environmental claims.

The lawyers told Judge Allan Gropper in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York they had resolved certain discovery issues related to roughly 40 years worth of claims, which were assigned to Tronox through a series of transactions in the years before...
