Drywall Claimants Seek Class Status In Tousa Ch. 11

Law360, New York (August 11, 2010, 12:54 PM EDT) -- A group of Florida homebuyers is seeking certification as a class of claimants in a bid to recover damages from bankrupt homebuilder Tousa Inc. over its use of allegedly defective Chinese drywall in their homes.

The motion, filed Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida by Heather J. Panko of Stutzman Bromberg Esserman & Plifka PC, argues that the group should be allowed to resolve their claims against Tousa through the bankruptcy claims resolution process.
