PPL Sues Park Service Over Pruning Barriers

Law360, New York (August 11, 2010, 2:28 PM EDT) -- PPL Electric Utilities Corp. has accused the National Park Service of standing in the way of the utility's federal obligations to conduct vegetation management to protect high-voltage electric transmission lines within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

PPL filed suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, claiming the NPS and the DWGNRA suddenly demanded time-consuming permitting for federally mandated work that has been going on uninhibited for more than 80 years.
