Coty Says Ex-Execs Violated Noncompete Covenants

Law360, New York (August 11, 2010, 7:12 PM EDT) -- Cosmetics company Coty Inc. on Wednesday sued two former executives who handled the Sally Hansen brand, accusing them of violating noncompetition agreements by launching a rival company that apes Sally Hansen's nail polish shades.

Coty filed a complaint in the New York State Supreme Court, New York County against Harvey P. Alstodt and Bruce C. Kowalsky, two erstwhile executives of Del Cosmetics, a company whose parent company, DLI Holding Corp., Coty purchased in 2007 for “hundreds of millions of dollars.”
