Qualcomm Strikes Out At Broadcom

Law360, New York (February 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Patent fights between Broadcom Corp. and Qualcomm Inc. have moved from the courtroom to the press room, with Qualcomm accusing its rival of making “misleading” statements regarding a court ruling about computer chips for next-generation phones.

On Monday, Broadcom claimed victory from a January oral ruling that allowed cell phone makers Samsung and Panasonic to use Broadcom chips in WCDMA-based cell phones without the threat being sued for patent infringement by Qualcomm.
