NY Court To Weigh In On Divorce Funds In Ponzi Suit

Law360, New York (August 13, 2010, 6:43 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court on Friday asked New York's highest court whether the ex-wife of alleged Ponzi mastermind Steven Walsh can have access under state law to about $14 million she received in divorce proceedings.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled that it had jurisdiction over the question of whether Janet Schaberg can access around $14 million in cash and real estate that she recovered in divorce proceedings, overruling the objections of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures...
