DirecTV Fails To Strike Class Claims In FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (August 16, 2010, 2:27 PM EDT) -- A putative class action accusing DirecTV Inc. of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act by failing to pay its technicians for all hours worked and improperly calculating overtime wages has survived the satellite television company's attempt to strip class claims from the case.

Judge Sarah S. Vance of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana denied DirectTV's request Friday. DirecTV also sought to dismiss other allegations in the complaint; that motion was denied except for a state fraud claim.
