GM Recalls 243K Vehicles Over Seat Belt Concerns

Law360, New York (August 17, 2010, 2:13 PM EDT) -- General Motors Corp. announced today it will conduct a voluntary recall of 2009-2010 models of the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook to inspect potential flaws in the cars’ second-row seat belts that make them appear buckled when they aren’t.

The recall applies to more than 243,000 cars whose second-row seat belt buckles may have involuntarily unlatched, failed to latch, jammed or appeared to latch without being fully engaged, the company said.
