NLRB Clears Writers Guild In Battle With NBC

Law360 (February 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a setback for NBC Universal Inc., the National Labor Relations Board has dismissed a complaint filed by two of the media and entertainment giant’s subsidiaries against a writers’ union over compensation for creating Internet programming.

The decision, issued Feb. 13 in San Francisco, was a victory for the Writers Guild of America, West Inc. The union was accused by Universal Network Television LLC and NBC Studios Inc. of illegally coercing TV show creators to refuse to work on Internet programming.
