Mexicana Wins Injunction Blocking Plane Seizures

Law360, New York (August 18, 2010, 7:19 PM EDT) -- A bankruptcy judge has agreed to block attempted plane seizures and other creditor actions against Mexicana de Aviacion SA, noting the embattled Mexican airline has reached agreements with several vendors and lenders that put the disputes to rest for now.

Judge Martin Glenn approved a preliminary injunction on Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York halting creditor suits until the company can secure a recognition order in the Chapter 15 bankruptcy, which does not provide for an instant automatic stay....
