US Pushes For High Chinese Hand Truck Duties

Law360, New York (August 19, 2010, 11:25 AM EDT) -- The federal government has asked the U.S. Court of International Trade to sustain a steep, China-wide anti-dumping duty margin on hand trucks made by Qingdao Taifa Group Co. Ltd., arguing that the U.S. Department of Commerce properly proved the company's failure to show that it was free of government control.

The U.S. on Wednesday asked CIT Judge Jane A. Restani to sustain Commerce's decision to apply the China-wide anti-dumping rate of 383.6 percent to Taifa instead of issuing a separate rate to the Chinese exporter....
