EU Hits Unilever With Objections Over Sara Lee Deal

Law360, New York (August 19, 2010, 12:28 PM EDT) -- The European Union's antitrust regulator has hit Unilever PLC with a formal statement of objections over its proposed €1.3 billion ($1.9 billion) acquisition of Sara Lee Corp.'s personal body care business.

The company said Tuesday that the European Commission had sent the statement, which Unilever expects to be resolved by the end of the year.
