Biolitec Wins Partial Toss Of Medical Laser Patent Suit

Law360, New York (August 24, 2010, 2:31 PM EDT) -- Biolitec Inc. has won a partial victory in a patent infringement suit brought by rival VNUS Medical Technologies, convincing a judge to toss claims of contributory infringement related to several medical laser devices.

Judge Maxine M. Chesney of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Monday granted Biolitec's request for summary judgment with respect to its Ceralas 810nm and 980nm laser consoles and bare tip laser fibers, but declined to find another device noninfringing at this stage.
