Indiana Teachers Sue Metlife Over Options

Law360, New York (February 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A group of Indiana teachers has launched a legal battle against Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., accusing the financial giant of conspiring with a subsidiary of the Indiana State Teachers Association to rig retirement options in its favor.

The lawsuit, filed in an Indiana county superior court on Feb. 16, names as defendants Metlife and ISTA Financial Services Corp., an ISTA subsidiary. It claims that Metlife paid ISTA Financial to promote Metlife’s insurance and retirement options.
