FDA Issues Guidance On Menu Labeling Rules

Law360, New York (August 24, 2010, 6:22 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday released a set of guidelines to help chain restaurants comply with new federal nutrition labeling rules requiring them to post the calorie content of their items at the point of purchase.

The guidelines are the agency's latest step toward implementing the menu-related provisions of Section 4205 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which President Barack Obama signed into law in March.
