Promoter Must Pay $1.2M Over Timberlake No-Show

Law360, New York (August 25, 2010, 7:32 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Wednesday ordered a concert promoter from Stamford, Conn., to pay ALV Events International Inc. nearly $1.2 million for failing to fulfill a contract to deliver musician Justin Timberlake to a concert in the Philippines.

Judge Stefan R. Underhill in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut issued a single-page default judgment against defendant Kofi Degraft Johnson, also known as Kofi Degraft, on claims of breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, fraud and statutory theft.
