Conn. Probes Rite Aid Over Discount Drug Price Hikes

Law360, New York (August 25, 2010, 7:09 PM EDT) -- Connecticut's attorney general subpoenaed Rite Aid Corp. on Wednesday to demand information about price hikes in its discount drug program in the wake of a new law requiring pharmacies to offer state Medicaid programs the same discounts offered to the public.

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said Wednesday that Rite Aid falsely blamed the increases in its Rx Savings program on the new Connecticut law, which was part of a budget bill that Gov. Jodi Rell signed in May.
