Markey Urges BP Not To Fight Gulf Spill Estimate

Law360, New York (August 26, 2010, 3:02 PM EDT) -- Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., is calling on BP PLC to accept the federal government's latest estimate that 4.9 million barrels of oil were spilled during the Deepwater Horizon disaster, saying that the company's reluctance to do so could foreshadow lengthy legal battles over federal fines.
