FirstEnergy Can't Shake $27M NYSEG Cleanup Suit

Law360, New York (August 27, 2010, 5:39 PM EDT) -- A magistrate judge has denied five summary judgment motions, reserved judgment on a sixth and withdrawn a seventh pending a tentative settlement in a $27 million hazardous waste cleanup feud between New York State Electric & Gas Corp. and several defendants.

Magistrate Judge David E. Peebles of the U.S. District Court for the District of New York issued the rulings from the bench Wednesday during oral arguments, and put his decisions in writing in a brief order Thursday.
