Skechers Hit With Class Action Over Shape-Up Shoes

Law360, New York (August 27, 2010, 4:28 PM EDT) -- A new class action accuses Skechers USA Inc. of hoodwinking consumers about the health benefits of its Shape-up line of shoes and reaping millions of dollars in sales based on bogus claims.

The class action complaint, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, blasts Skechers for touting the conditioning and strengthening effects of the shoes, promising benefits that never materialize.
