By Sara Stefanini (February 21, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Hertz Corp. has filed a lawsuit against Enterprise Rent-a-Car Co., accusing the rival rental company of engaging in unfair trade and business practices in relation to an intellectual property dispute over technology used by both companies.
By threatening Hertz with allegations of patent infringements and spreading rumors that an injunction would impede its business, Enterprise violated both federal and Massachusetts state antitrust laws, according to the complaint, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
