Core-Mark, Insurers Awarded $18M In Contract Spat

Law360, New York (August 30, 2010, 5:07 PM EDT) -- A Colorado jury has hit security system provider Sonitrol Corp. with an $18.3 million breach of contract verdict in a suit brought by Core-Mark International Inc. and two of its insurers over a 2002 burglary and fire at a Core-Mark warehouse.

A jury in Adams County District Court in Colorado awarded Core-Mark more than $7.3 million and gave its insurers — U.S. Fire Insurance Co. and Commonwealth Insurance Co. — nearly $11 million on Aug. 18 after finding that Sonitrol willfully and wantonly breached its contract...
