Thomson Hits Chimei With 337 Suit Over LCD Patents

Law360, New York (August 27, 2010, 7:46 PM EDT) -- Thomson Licensing SAS has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to launch an investigation into whether Taiwan-based Chimei Innolux Corp.’s liquid crystal display devices infringe five patents.

France-based Thomson and its U.S. subsidiary filed a complaint with the ITC on Friday, accusing Chimei of violating Section 337 of the Tariff Act by importing into the U.S. and selling LCD devices and parts, including monitors, televisions, modules, panels, controllers and birefringent film, that infringe the patents-in-suit.
