White House Slaps North Korea With New Sanctions

Law360, New York (August 30, 2010, 7:47 PM EDT) -- The Obama administration has imposed new sanctions on North Korea that aim to limit the ability of the country's government to support itself through arms trading and other illicit activities.

In an executive order issued Monday, President Barack Obama expanded U.S. sanctions against the North Korean government, targeting an “international network” of individuals and entities that support the regime in a range of deals including arms sales, money laundering, currency counterfeiting, cash smuggling and narcotics trafficking.
