FDA Finds Mice, Maggots At Iowa Egg Farms

Law360, New York (August 30, 2010, 7:26 PM EDT) -- U.S. Food and Drug Administration inspections have found overflowing manure pits, mice and maggots at the two Iowa farms that have recalled more than 550 million eggs after being linked to the largest salmonella outbreak in four decades.

In two reports issued Monday, FDA inspectors cited a bevy of safety issues that could have contributed to the spread of the disease at Hillandale Farms of Iowa Inc. and Wright County Egg.
