Wheel Maker Loses Appeal Of Liability Coverage Suit

Law360, New York (September 1, 2010, 3:23 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has denied an appeal of Hayes Lemmerz International Inc.'s suit against Ace American Insurance Co., which alleged a workers' compensation and employer liability insurance policy should have been triggered by the death of a worker in a factory explosion.

A three-judge panel in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit on Tuesday rejected HLI's appeal of its dismissed complaint against Ace seeking the costs of its legal defenses in the worker's widow's tort suit against HLI.
