US Steel Fights To Keep 577% Duty On Tata Products

Law360, New York (September 1, 2010, 12:52 PM EDT) -- U.S. Steel Corp. is seeking permission to intervene on behalf of the U.S. Department of Commerce in Tata Steel Ltd.'s challenge of a 577 percent countervailing duty on certain hot-rolled steel products.

U.S. Steel, which bills itself as the largest fully integrated steel producer in the U.S., filed a motion Tuesday to become a defendant in the suit brought by Tata, an affiliate of India-based Tata Group, in the U.S. Court of International Trade.
