Judge Won't Moot Challenge To Drilling Ban

Law360, New York (September 1, 2010, 5:49 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Wednesday refused the Obama administration's request to throw out a suit challenging the legality of the first temporary deepwater drilling moratorium.

Judge Martin Feldman of the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana overruled the administration's arguments that the case over the legality of the first ban is moot given that a revised ban, ostensibly based on different considerations, is now in force.
