IBM Sues Ex-VP To Recoup Sign-On Bonus

Law360, New York (September 7, 2010, 5:45 PM EDT) -- IBM Corp. is hoping a lawsuit will force a former executive to return a $350,000 sign-on bonus to which the company argues he is no longer entitled.

The computer technology giant filed suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, demanding that David Zolet — a former vice president for IBM Global Services — give back the money.

According to IBM, Zolet signed a repayment agreement stipulating that the bonus would not be considered “earned” until he completed two years of employment....
