Total Hits Team Industries With $4.8M Contract Suit

Law360, New York (September 7, 2010, 6:52 PM EDT) -- Total Petrochemicals USA Inc. has hit Team Industries Inc. with a $4.8 million breach of contract suit, accusing the pipe spool contractor of escalating prices and labor costs and otherwise inflating its billing on a project to build a 50,000-barrel-per-day coker and a desulfurization unit at Total's Port Arthur, Texas, refinery.

Total has withheld nearly $8.4 million in payment from the Wisconsin-based Team Industries and is seeking nearly $4.8 million more, plus damages, according the complaint, which initially was lodged July 23 in Texas state court...
