ITC Probes Samsung, Others In Spansion 337 Case

Law360, New York (September 7, 2010, 7:35 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has opened up an investigation into whether Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and others infringed Spansion Inc.’s flash memory chip patents.

The ITC on Tuesday voted to institute a review based on a complaint filed by Spansion in August that claimed the companies had violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act by importing into the U.S. and selling MP3 players, cell phones and personal computers containing the allegedly infringing chips.
