Farmers Cinch Class Cert. In Milk Antitrust MDL Case

Law360, New York (September 8, 2010, 2:58 PM EDT) -- A group of current and former dairy farmers has won class certification on most claims in a suit against Dean Foods Co., National Dairy Holdings LP and several others that is part of the multidistrict litigation over an alleged antitrust conspiracy in the U.S. milk industry.

Judge J. Ronnie Greer of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee on Tuesday granted in part the plaintiffs' May 2009 motion to certify the class and two subclasses, excluding only the farmers' breach of contract claim...
