Pfizer Loses Bid To Dismiss Adversary Proceeding

Law360, New York (February 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A U.S. bankruptcy judge has rejected Pfizer Inc.’s attempt to dismiss claims from insurance companies entangled in the Chapter 11 proceedings of its subsidiary, Quigley Company Inc., which was brought down by product liability claims.

The decision, issued Feb. 22 in the Southern District of New York, also rejected Pfizer’s bid to dismiss a cross-claim filed by Guildhall Insurance Co. and rejected a bid by Hartford Accident and Indemnity Co. to dismiss the case or abstain.
