Tri-Star Has Standing For Socket Patent Suit: Fed. Circ.

Law360, New York (September 10, 2010, 2:08 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has greenlighted Tri-Star Electronics International Inc.'s suit accusing Preci-Dip Durtal SA of infringing its electronics patent, notwithstanding Preci-Dip's argument that Tri-Star did not actually own the technology.

Preci-Dip had argued that the Tri-Star employee named as the patent's inventor never legally transferred the patent to Tri-Star because the assignment contract gave the patent to a Tri-Star incorporated in Ohio, whereas the company had since moved to California.
