Apple Hits External Battery Maker With Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 13, 2010, 12:10 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc. has added to its long list of court battles over intellectual property, filing a patent infringement suit against the company that manufactures external batteries for the MacBook product line.

The technology giant lodged its complaint Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, targeting Sanho Corp., maker of HyperMac external batteries and car chargers. The products are used with Apple’s MacBook series and other major products, including the iPad.
