Canadian Telecom Hits Rival With Antitrust Claim

Law360, New York (September 13, 2010, 4:45 PM EDT) -- Start-up cellular carrier Mobilicity has asked Canada's competition watchdog to investigate whether Rogers Communications Inc. has taken advantage of its dominance to keep rivals out of the mobile telecommunications market.

Mobilicity lodged a complaint with the Canadian Competition Bureau accusing Rogers of violating Section 78 of the Canadian Competition Act with its recent launch of its Chatr prepaid wireless plan, the company said Wednesday.
